Gary Thwaite

Gary Thwaite

Gary is a director at G&S fitness. He played squash professionally for Ten years, going on to win both the 035 British open and closed titles as well as retaining the Cumbrian Championship for two decades. He now enjoys taking classes at the gym and helping his personal training clients achieve their goals. In his spare time, Gary can be found cycling around the Lake District or out with his dog Rolo.

Gary is also a qualified advanced strength and conditioning specialist.

Stephen pearson

Stephen pearson

Steve is co-director at G&S Fitness and has been keen on sport since he was at school. He played rugby and football for Silloth School and continued to play rugby for Silloth and also began to enjoy playing a round of golf.  Steve had to give up on sport in his early twenties when the demands of work and having young children took over. But having put on a few pounds, when he got the chance, Steve joined Water Street gym. His first instructor was Brian Reay! Steve is now a qualified Spinning Instructor and teaches a couple of nights a week. His days are taken up with his full-time role as a farmer.

Hayley Pearson

Hayley Pearson

Hayley has always loved sport and did work experience at Water Street Gym in Wigton when she was at school. Hayley went onto Lakes College where she gained a diploma in Sport and Leisure.

Gary and Steve (Hayley’s Dad) opened G&S in 2011 and Hayley has worked there since then. Hayley is a qualified Gym instructor and personal trainer and has a qualification in nutrition.

Hayley enjoys helping people transform their bodies and life style through exercise and diet and has been competing in bikini body building competitions since 2017.

Lisa Bowe

Lisa has been active all her life helping on the family farm, and has been a keen member of G&S Fitness since we opened in 2011. Lisa teaches a range of classes on an evening as she is a full-time Farm Secretary for Marrs Benson accountants. Lisa is a qualified instructor & personal trainer, and enjoys helping people maintain their fitness and achieve goals!

Most weekends Lisa enjoys fell walking with her springer spaniel or is milking cows on the farm.

Sheila Pattinson

Sheila Pattinson

Sheila has been a fitness instructor for over twenty years. Sheila is qualified in a wide range of areas including aerobics, steps, spinning, circuit training, gym ball, line dancing and water aerobics. For the past twelve years Sheila has worked as a physio technical instructor at the Cumberland Infirmary and currently runs a very successful spin and gym ball class.

Jacinta Clark

Jacinta has been involved in the fitness industry for over 25years. A fitness fanatic, she enjoys running, gym workouts, and has built up a great knowledge of nutrition and body mechanics. Motivation and maintenance of good health, diet and fitness are what Jacinta sees as essential to inner confidence and well being. Her classes are a mixture of fun, high energy and getting to know about your body.

Jacinta’s main interests are her love of fitness, her love for her husband and her poodles.
